The Concept “House of God”

Although we already affirmed that God does not need a place to rest his feet on or to stand on, nor a physical material place for his abode, He has chosen a place to abide there, the third heaven. The concept “house of God” therefore is multiple.

God’s House in Heaven

Gen 28:12, 17 “house of God” “gate of heaven” – There is a dwelling place that God has created for himself, and there appears that there is a gate to that house of God in heaven or a way between earth and God’s house in heaven.

The Earthly Gate to God’s Heavenly House Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder – Jacob’s ladder in Gen 28, seems to be a portal between heaven and earth. This is not clear what it means, but apparently, angels were ascending and descending between heaven and earth on this ladder, indicating that these celestial servants or ministers were constantly and fervently going back and forth on the heavenly duties.
