As the saying goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat. This is true also when you make Bible modules. I would make a comment here, that THE BEST WAY for making a module for theWord is within the program itself. That I say because every time you pass a module through a converter, you run the risk of corrupting parts of it. In the “old days” (I have been in this business of creating modules for about 15 years I guess. I started with e-Sword, and migrated to theWord and mySword.) I ran across modules made by who knows for e-Sword, and the module just would not work correctly in any Bible program. I converted them to theWord and they still were giving me weird behavior. So the preferred method is with theWord itself. MySword is a Bible app for the Android devices, and you cannot ...

Beginner’s First theWord Class
By David Cox
Class Objective: This page is a basic beginning point for the brand new theWord user. From here we will link to other pages/clases for you to go through and learn, and then come back here. (You must install the software before anything else. If it is not installed, then please install it.)
Identifying the Different Parts of theWord
We start our learning journey of theWord Bible Software by first studying the different parts of the program window. Basically there is a menu area at the top of the screen, and menu panes below it.
Identifying the Panes – This is a simple class to identify where we are talking about, and how to open them if they are not already open.
How to Make Module Sets – In this class, we go ...

Where is Strong’s Numbers in KJV? explains how to reveal the strongs number associated with each word in the KJV.
Where is Strong’s Numbers in KJV?
By David Cox
Class Objective: Resolve the problem of no Strong’s numbers showing in the King James Bible. NOTE: In a normal installation of theWord from the official website, you should have both the Strong’s KJV and the Strong’s dictionary as part of the normal installation.

Solution
Have you installed TheWord with the KJV Bible that says that it has Strong’s numbers, and the Strong’s numbers don’t show? You probably are not aware that the Bible’s in TheWord have various options for toggling different features on and off, and the Strong’s numbers is exactly one of these. 1. Note that these are NOT Control + a letter, but JUST THE LETTER alone, in this case the “S” key (capital or lowercase) will toggle the Strong’s numbers. 2. Note that ...

What operating system does it run on?

theWord has been developed for the Windows operating system and is compatible with Windows 98 upwards (including Windows XP, Vista, and 7).

Some of the unicode features are not available in older Win9x systems. There is special support for localized Win9x systems though (e.g. Arabic Windows 98 will properly display contextual shaped Arabic text). In Windows 2K upwards, there is full support for all languages.
(From TheWord.net website: http://www.theword.net/index.php?faqanswer.56&l=english)
Having said that, let me quickly add, using WINE (Windows emulation software) for both the MAC and Linux, you can easily run the program on both of these platforms. I have had many, many communications with people daily using theWord on both of these platforms.
In the video below (from Doug Hamp), skip to minute 13 to see discussion of this.
This following link is from codeweavers, and I have a little more confidence in it.

theWord Bible Search
By David Cox
Class Objective: In this class we want to just get started on searching the Bible. For purposes of simplicity, we will use the KJV Bible version, but I will also show you how to change that to any Bible version you have installed. theWord Bible Search is the topic of this class.

Requirements for this Class
First of all, you need to know how to open a BibleView window, and a Bible Search Window, so you should review Identifying the Panes, specifically the section “How do I open these panes if they are not showing?”
Setting up TW for a Bible Search
Open a BibleView window (F11), and a Bible Search window (F10). We will go through the different options, but for now try to get the window to look like this. Note that the Let’s do a simple search. Click in the area that says “Search the Bible” or press ...

Clipboard Monitor Options
By David Cox
Class Objective: In this class, we want to explore the “Watching the Clipboard” options so that we can change and set these options to different things.

Clipboard Monitor Options Dialog Box

These are the options for the Watching Clipboard function.
Bible text
Essentially this is what Bible version you want to see in the popup. Note that you have the option to set any installed Bible version, but you also have the option to use the current Bible (current as in the current Bible in the BibleView window), and also you can choose for it to show the default Bible.

Clipboard Monitor Window placement
Another very useful option is for TW to show you the Bible verses you have copied to the clipboard in the popup window at a certain location on the screen. Here you have 6 options to choose from.
You can define a set location left-right, upper-lower corners, and also ...
